The message of the “After the Storm” interactive website is if you are a disaster survivor to take in the account of the disaster and realize what was, what is, and what will be. The author tells the listener at the end about how when they are in the moment of the disaster to realize that nothing will be the same again. I believe the audience is to any disaster survivors as well as anyone who hasn’t encountered a disaster. The author frequently gives direct advice to both groups of people. Yes, the author organized the website different then the essay, this time it wasn’t in chronological order it used in media res. This provided a better understanding to his point that you will never forget a disaster. I felt grief for all the people who were affected by both storms he mentions on the website. The change in format changed the tone slightly to a more somber, more hopeful tone. The design was entirely changed which changed the context from being right after the second storm to awhile after.
